The day after his birthday, Jake started school. He goes to Dudley Elementary School in the Center Unified School District, which is the district that I work in. At first, I thought that this was a GREAT plan and it is for the most part, but we ran into a hiccup on the first day of classes. Since we are in the same district my first day back with students was also Jake's first day. With Joe in school and not able to miss we had a little dilemma. Luckily, I have an awesome principal that let me leave my fourth period 10 minutes early so I could rush over an see Jacob get settled in his new classroom. My mom took him that morning and they had all sorts of fun. They dropped off Krista at the airport, got donuts, went to Walmart, then went to McDonalds before school and met me there. Jake was so sweet too. While he was out he saved Luke his favorite donut and bought the dog a toy. I guess it's easy with Grammie's money :) In all he had a great first day! His only complaint was that he didn't get to ride the bus home.

All went well dropping him off. I did get a little teary eyed, but I didn't want him to see and get sad so I toughed it out. Although, the worst thing could have happened. The teacher had all the kids go to the mat and turn around at the same time and wave to all the parents and say "Mom and Dad look at me I'm a kindergartener now!" At that point I waved quickly an bolted out the door. I knew that it was coming and that would be the worst part. On the way back to work, I called Joe, and left a message that I dropped him off. I cried on the message, but blamed it on the baby. What a great excuse for all the emotion!

How sweet!
so awesome! Congrats, Jake
Which teacher does he have? Aidan went to Dudley for Kindergarten last year and had a blast!
He's in Mrs. Dzida's class. So far so good...just hope it lasts through the school year.
