Kindergarten Registration

Yesterday afternoon, I was able to register Jake for kindergarten. He will be going to Dudley Elementary, which is in the same school district that I teach in. We picked this school for two reasons: His Aunt Patti, who he dearly loves, works at this school and a certain kindergarten teacher came highly recommended from a couple of sources. He will have kindergarten orientation on August 4th (his birthday) and he will start August 5th. He is really excited and eager to start school. I just hope the excitement lasts through all his years of school.

Not your every Thursday morning!

Every Wednesday Joe has to complete these really long care plans for his patient that he will care for on Thursday and Friday. Well, last night I went to bed and around 5 am I woke up and noticed that Joe was not in bed yet. I roll out of bed and just barely get through the door of our bedroom and Joe was standing there. I begin to tell him that it's time to go to bed and he just says, "I lost it." I just replied with the panic stricken "What!...You're joking right." However, it was not a joke. We spent an hour trying to recover/find the document. I had Joe call HP, then HP had Joe call Microsoft (by the way did you know that the people in the help centers can actually manipulate your computer at home--freaky). Anywho, no one could help us and then Joe was sitting there and thought that he'd just do what his parents always say and re-trace his steps. So, he did, and found the document in some obscure temporary file. This whole ordeal took about two very stressful hours. Not the best way to start a morning.

No PINK For Me!

On Friday I found out that I would not be losing my job at the end of the school year like I've been worried about the past several months. There were 7 teachers at my school site alone that were told they would be receiving pink slips on March 15th, but I am safe. Once again, I'm glad that I teach special ed!
