Jacob's First Trophy!

Jacob had his first award ceremony for his soccer team. At the pizza party he also got his first trophy. He was so excited. He actually asked to sleep with it the first night, but I got him to agree to put it on his bookshelf.

Trick Or Treat!

Later at night we met at Joe's Mom and Dad's for the annual Halloween get together and trick or treating. Here are some of the grandkids getting ready to head out for the night.

Could you imagine having this many kids show up at your door?

Houston, Elizabeth and Veronica.

Luke as a ghost. His costume progressively changed as the night went on. First he had two eyes...then one big face hole...then we poked his head through the hole. Oh well, this is exactly what he wanted. The kids was easy to please this year.

Leah in her always fabulous costumes.

The Finished Product!

After all that carving the pumpkins were ready to be lit. There were 27 pumpkins all together. My grandparents were very happy with the result.

Culp Halloween Party!

To begin Halloween night, we went to my grandparent's house for a little party.

Here's Luke next to "The Witch's Brew" (homemade rootbeer). Notice how the brew is in a Home Depot bucket? If you knew what my grandpa carried in that bucket you wouldn't drink whatever he was making in it. At least it looked cool and the kids liked it.

Everyone carvining their pumpkins. Jillian is on the floor in the front. Then from left to right it's Joe, Jake, Josh, Jaclyn, Kathryn, Emilee (with the camera) and Steve. This was all I could fit from where I sat.

Kathryn and Jaclyn busy at designing.

Rob being industrious.
(You can tell we come from a long line of construction oriented professionals)

Last Soccer Game of the Season

Halloween was Jacob's last soccer game of the season. Since I had only taken pictures at one other game, I thought we better get some more. Next year, if he decides to play he has to move up a division. I am so glad that he started out in the youngest division first though. It worked out perfectly with our crazy schedules and he had a really, really nice coach, which helped him enjoy the game.

The boys getting their shin guards checked. I think this is so cute, so I wanted to add it in.

Jake waiting for his turn in a drill.

Taking his water break.

Taking on some poor little kid half his size. I was surprised at how aggressive Jacob was. It's not really his nature just yet to be super competitive, but get him on a field and watch out.

Ward Halloween Party!

Our ward didn't have a Halloween Party this year, but that was ok, because me and the boys crashed my parent's party! I didn't get to take many pictures, because I was there by myself and my mom and dad always have to talk to EVERYONE, because my dad is the bishop. So, instead of snapping pictures I tried to keep an eye on both kids as they ran around the gym.

4 of Jake and Luke's Aunts and Uncles. A pair from my side and a pair from Joe's. There is Houston, Josh, Mia and Elizabeth.

Homemade Pizzas!

Towards the end of the month, I have to get a little creative with dinners. As a teacher, I only get paid once a month, so I try to only go grocery shopping once a month. Needless to say, by the end the fridge and pantry start to look a little bare. However, in October, I had some frozen dough in the freezer and pizza toppings in the fridge, which made for two very happy boys! They were so excited to make their pizzas that when the heating and air guys came by they told them that's what we were having for dinner. Now that they've made some, they keep asking to make it again. Something so simple was VERY exciting for Jake and Luke.
