Christmas Visit to the Cemetery

Every year around the 16th of December most of my family makes a trip out to the cemetery to decorate a Christmas tree that we set up at my sister's grave site. This year it was especially cold, around 38, which was horrible for standing outside and decorating the tree, but we got it done, lights and all.

My wonderful brother, teaching my kids that it's ok to run wild in a cemetery...did you catch the sarcasm?

My sweet grandma, freezing. She actually refused the blankets at first, but we won.

Joe staking in the tree to make it stable, and my Dad in the background "supervising". Joe has been so good about going out to the cemetery with my family. He has never missed it. There have even been a couple years where he went without me, because I had school.

The finished product.
My mom was very excited about the decorations this year, because they were very colorful and the lights were very bright, even from a distance. She said that it reminded her of my sister's personality.

That is wonderful that you all did that every year. Hard to imagine that it has been 7 years already. Miss and think about Desi everyday.
