My Husband Loves Me...

I have had a crazy month at work, not to mention it's allergy season. On April 3rd, my allergies were so bad that one of my eyes was almost swollen shut by the time I got to work. On top of that, I had two high maintenance parent meetings that I had to hold. Apparently, my eye was twitching for a good portion of my first meeting, as I was told later by the school psychologist.

When Joe was headed home from the hospital that night I was telling him about how bad my day had gone because of my dumb allergies, but that conversation got cut short, because the boys were fighting in the bathtub. About 30 minutes later, Joe came through the front door with these beautiful lillies, some allergy medicine and some eyedrops. He then drugged me up and sent me to bed! What more could I ask for.

We got a dog...

One day I was at work and my Aunt Kathryn texted me asking if we wanted a dog. She has known that the boys and I have wanted a dog for some time now, so she wanted to ask me. She continues to tell me that the dog is a Jack Russell Terrier and has already had all of it's shots AND was already house broken. By then I was thinking great this is going to be a $500 dog. So, I ask how much and she replies FREE! So, me and Joe figured that we could try a dog that was free. We picked her up that afternoon, named her Roxy and the boys have been in love ever since!

The Big 3-0!!!

Joe's brother Sam and his wife Olivia both turned 30 March. As a tradition in Joe's family, all of the siblings get together for dinner and a "roasting" of the elderly. This year Sam and Olivia came dressed the part, which took us all by surprise. It was hilarious...I just wonder what my neighbors thought if they happened to catch a glimpse of these lookers!

I know that it's difficult to see but Sam has a unibrow and he has shaved the crown on his head. He also has some lovely earhair coming out...yummy! Olivia has bright blue eyeshadow and has done a wonderful job as putting on her lipstick. She is also sporting a prominently placed mole.
However, after all these years they still got it!

All of the Elmer kids and spouses down for a nice dinner...minus all of the talking and walking kids of course.

The Afterparty!

After everyone went home from the party all of the cousins got to visit that Saturday night and Sunday after church. Here are just some shots of everyone just relaxing...we are all getting old, because this is all any of us wanted to do.

My cousin Diana and her husband Brett.

My cousin Bryan and his wife Shay.

Jacob and Wyatt (Diana's oldest) wrestling Josh.

Brielle (Diana's second) "playing" Rockband.

Jacob and Wyatt taking a timeout from wrestling for a photo opportunity.

That weekend was so much fun. It was one of the rare chances that we have to get all of my dad's immediate family together, but everyone was there...except Tyler and Jed who are on their missions.

Grandma and Grandpa's 50th Wedding Anniversary!

On March 20th, my grandparents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary! What a milestone. We all had a lot of fun getting ready for the party, and visiting with family, although it was very busy. Thank goodness I have a big family with lots of aunts, or else I don't know how this would have been pulled off.

There were tons of people that came, which was nice. Although, my grandparents don't like a fuss to be made over them I think that they really liked everyone coming by. The above picture was the very full gazebo in my grandparent's backyard. It rained that day, so our plans for outdoor dining had to be altered somewhat. Everyone got a little cozier with each other.
This was the madhouse that was the kitchen.

Here is Jake and his cousin (actually my cousin, his second cousin) Cassidy...up to no good, I assure you.

Josh and Mia hanging out in the living room... and yes, Josh usually looks like this. Love ya Josh!

Joe's 28th birthday!

Joe turned 28 on March 25th and since the month of March was very, very full, we celebrated on the 14th. My sister gave us two gift cards to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and then she offered to watch the boys. What a deal! So, I made the reservations and we had a great time. It was fun to get dressed up to go out to eat, although we are both glad that we don't have to do it all of the time. Happy Birthday Joe!

When I'm at work...

While I was looking through our camera's memory card, I discovered that Joe was making the boys eat lunch outside! (Not really, of course) Sadly, I think they prefer a picnic of macaroni and cheese on a bucket over eating in a warm house at a table. At least they have sweatshirts on and shoes :)
